What I've Been Up To Lately

I'm pretty sure I'm trying to kill myself this semester. I haven't written anything for about a month, but with good reason.
I'm taking 18 credit hours, and I'm taking a 140 hour internship, I work, and I'm trying to plan my wedding, AND make family and Terence time. :( I am really enjoying this process of wedding planning. I just wish I had more time to enjoy it! But on a happier subject.....SNOW!

Isn't it beautiful?
Well I need to get back to studying for midterms. Spring break is just around the corner though!

Loving Warby Parker!

Hello everyone!
So I recently discovered a newer website through my brother. If you wear glasses, then this truly is the site for you! What you can do is browse through all kinds of vintage inspired glasses. You can even try them on virtually! Here are some of the glasses that I tried on!

Is that not the coolest thing ever? Even if you're not planning on getting new glasses, it's fun to just browse and try different things on! :)
What's even cooler is they will send me 5 pairs for free and no shipping to try on for 5 days. I then send them back and pick out the pair that I want. THEN, they send me my glasses WITH PRESCRIPTION INCLUDED for only $95 dollars! Do you realize how awesome that is? Needless to say, I ordered my 5 trial pairs just a few minutes ago, and I'm so excited to get them in the mail! I will have to do a review after I get the 5 pairs and then after when I get my final! :) :)
If you want to go check it out, just go to warbyparker.com ! Enjoy!

What I've Been Up To Lately

So it's been a few days since I've posted anything, and for good reason. My life is absolutely crazy! I honestly don't know how I get all the things done that I'm supposed to , but I do.
The last few days have been really exciting though. I got my bridesmaid's dresses in the mail, approved my invitation proofs, sent out my save the dates, and designed my guest book. :) It's been hectic, but I kind of like it!
I've also started my internship, which I know I'm going to love! I went in a few days ago to set up my desk. I forgot to take a picture of it, but I think it's so darn cute and cozy!

Above.
 1. My mom subscribed to Better Homes and Gardens for me during Christmas and the first issue arrived today! So excited to look at all the ideas!
2. So I've started planting my own herbs! I know you can't really see it in the picture, but a few little sprouts are coming up! I planted a few things like Chamomile, Thyme, Spearmint...etc.
3. So I read about how to grow your own pineapple! I decided to go for it! They don't take very much maintenance, but I should be able to eat it in about 2 to 3 years...:)

The other day I made shrimp orzo. Completely delicious. The only downfall was I wish I had made more. So incredibly yummy...and pretty quick and easy! I will definitely be making this again!

A lazy Sunday + The Hobbit

One of my favorite parts about Sunday is being able to visit with everyone that I love. We get to take a moment and sit down together after a long hard week of work and school. My mom is the best cook. Literally. Ever.
The first time Terence ever ate my mom's food he looked at me and said..."whoa.":)

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to make a thrift store run today. Several of our thrift stores have special sales on Sundays, and I like to go and browse. Even though I didn't get to go, Terence treated me to Chipotle, Ghirardelli Salted Caramel Chocolates and The Hobbit. :) I have to say, I was very excited to see it and I loved it! I can't wait till the second one comes out!
Best date ever:)

So about eight months ago, my fiancé and I found ourselves suddenly hooked on Korean food. If you've never tried it, you haven't lived. In the town where I live, they are popping up all over the place! We've found the one restaurant that we love, and we go there quite often. We both love the hot stone bowls, which is brown rice, your choice of meat, veggies, pickled mushroom and egg, and a yummy sauce! It doesn't sound good the way I describe it...but let me assure you...It's phenomenal. As of late, I've really been enjoying the ramen. The pictures don't looks so great because it was dark AND it was with my cell phone. I meant to take a picture of it when it first came out, but it looked so yummy that I forgot until halfway through!

The picture above is of my ramen. It's absolutely delicious. If you haven't tried Korean food, I highly suggest you go. Tonight.
Terence loves the spicy shrimp bowl. I can't eat it cause it's too spicy, so I normally get mine with sesame sauce.

Lipstick Print on My Coffee Mug

One of my favorite parts of the day is walking into the kitchen in the morning and seeing my mom's coffee cup on the counter with her lipstick print on the side of it. She never drinks all of it because by the time she's half way through with it, it's time for her to leave for work.
I always drink the rest of her coffee after she's gone. It hit me this morning as I was drinking the rest of her coffee how much I'm going to miss her after I get married.

But enough of sad stuff. This just means that I'll need to get a coffee pot and put my own lipstick print on my own mug. Maybe I'll get a mug with a lipstick print already on it. :)

My New Year's Resolution/ Child Labor

There was absolutely no way I was going to go outside in 15 degree weather just to take pictures of my outfit. I would die.

So as of late I've been feeling sort of convicted about a certain topic that Americans don't think about enough. Child labor in places like China, making clothes for people in America for so cheap, it almost feels like stealing. I guess I've just been thinking about someone else's pain and labor (let alone a child in some factory) making me cost beneficial clothes just so that I can feel and look good.

It's not right in my mind that a child is forced to work in a factory for America's benefit.

That's why, this year, I will be trying my hardest to do my small part.

This year, I will buy things either locally, made in America, or at thrift stores and consignment shops.

I don't mind buying my clothes at thrift stores though. In fact I think the clothes have so much more character, and it's fun to be able to try and hunt down just the right thing, without it being right at your fingertips. I will also be trying to maximize what I already do have, making new outfits with what's in my closet.
